'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Westley - A Draw Was Right

Manager Graham Westley has said he feels that a draw against Sheffield United was ultimately the right result last weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site following the score less draw, the gaffer explained that it had been a difficult afternoon, especially with the blustery conditions and the wind so it wasn't a fantastic game of football by any stretch of the imagination, but it was about doing the best you could and coping with the conditions even if it meant digging in.

'I can't say I'm delighted to win just the point at home but I think there are a lot of positives in the display - organisation, discipline, work ethic and good care for the result.'

Pleasingly for him he also points to the performance after he made the change as he felt we started to get in more control of the game then so he was pleased to see that it was the right decision to take and the right step, but he does know that on another day we could've nicked it 1-0 but the chances just wouldn't fall for us, so a draw on reflection was probably the right result and neither side really deserved the win in his eyes.

On another plus side we are now unbeaten in two games again following the loss to Shrewsbury, so there's plenty for us to build on given how the fixtures fall at this time of year. The point also keeps us out of the bottom three by the skin of our teeth, so if we can turn these draws into a couple of wins over the next week things will look a lot better as we head into the New Year and the second half of the season.
