Westley - Another Good Win

Westley - Another Good Win

Manager Graham Westley was a happy man at full time following the three one victory over Chesham United in our most recent pre season friendly.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game that saw a hattrick from summer signing Adam Marriott, the gaffer explained that this was always going to be a tough test and a tricky game for us, so he was pleased with our efforts and the scoreline on the day.

'We didn't come here expecting an easy go of it. You know that one of the biggest factors is likely to be the physical factor, as games go on part time sides are likely to tire, but in pre season games where you can change 11 players over, big squads of part time players can keep themselves going.'

Westley goes on to say that not having long been away from the part time level ourselves, we more than know the score and 'the script' and how teams approach games with Football League sides so there was never a question of us underestimating them.

'It wasn't going to be an easy challenge but I thought the boys did well throughout the 90 minutes.'

Of course Marriott will take the headlines, and the gaffer picked him out for special praise following his goals, commending him on his sharpness and since coming in he feels he's really been growing in stature and confidence during training and that's starting to show itself in games now, especially as he gets his fitness up more, because getting into good positions and starting to make them count now.
