Pett In Team Of The Week (4/1/18)

Pett In Team Of The Week (4/1/18)

Stevenage are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Tom Pett in the four one victory over Cheltenham Town on New Year's Day at the Lamex Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Pett was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Darren Sarll saw his team start the New Year in winning fashion, thanks to a 4-1 success over Cheltenham Town. Pett`s contribution was crucial, as, after Matt Godden had levelled, the midfielder put his team ahead, and then sealed things two minutes from time.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Pett for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the points.

Full Team:

Jordan Smith (Nottingham Forest), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Daniel Ayala (Middlesbrough), Ethan Pinnock (Barnsley), Robert Snodgrass (Aston Villa), Matt Bloomfield (Wycombe Wanderers), Tom Naylor (Burton Albion), Tom Pett (Stevenage), Kane Hemmings (Mansfield Town), Tom Eaves (Gillingham), Robbie Willmott (Newport County).

Manager Steve Cotterill (Birmingham City).
